Drali ha iniziato il mestiere di meccanico con il padre, anche lui rinomato telaista negli anni Trenta nel reparto corse della Bianchi, autore dei telai usati da Costante Girardengo e poi dal mitico Coppi. Al nome Bianchi sono legate le imprese di grandi campioni di ieri e di oggi, ma straordinario resta il binomio con Fausto Coppi, icona della storia sportiva italiana e internazionale, uno degli atleti più popolari e amati di sempre. Alla fama di quest'azienda e alle vittorie del Campionissimo ha certo contribuito in modo determinante la maestria dei Drali, padre e figlio. Giuseppe (Beppino) Drali ha solo 9 anni quando comincia a fare assistenza in officina, imparando a poco a poco dal padre Carlo i segreti del mestiere. I telai di Drali sono, a detta degli esperti, inarrivabili capolavori di perfezione tecnica e di leggerezza: il maestro li realizza assemblando, limando, saldando tutto a mano, curando ogni particolare con maniacale attenzione al dettaglio. E nessuna delle sue creazioni risulta uguale all'altra, sono tutti veri e propri pezzi unici. Giuseppe Drali è quello che potremmo definire un monumento nel mondo della bicicletta milanese. Nato nel 1928 è ancora la memoria storica del ciclismo milanese, custode di fatti e impressioni di una vita trascorsa lavorando con grande passione nel quartiere Stadera-Chiesa Rossa dove prima col padre e poi da solo si è affermato come produttore artigianale di biciclette e telai da corsa, collaborando strettamente con la Bianchi e divenendo fornitore di fiducia di Fausto Coppi. Solo al Drali la Bianchi gli diede la possibilità di chiamare un suo modello “pokerissima” come la Bianchi realizzata dal padre per Fausto Coppi dopo le 4 vittorie del Campionissimo al Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, Campionato del Mondo e Milano San Remo.

And none of his creations is the same as the other, they are all real unique pieces. Giuseppe Drali is what we could call a monument in the Milanese bicycle world. Born in 1928, it is still the historical memory of Milanese cycling, the keeper of facts and impressions of a life spent working with great passion in the Stadera-Chiesa Rossa district where first with his father and then alone he established himself as an artisan manufacturer of bicycles and frames for Corsa, working closely with Bianchi and becoming Fausto Coppi's trusted supplier.
